This gorgeous project was one segment of a trio documentary by CRWNMAG displaying Black-American Leisure in America through a fluted lens of creative freedom and collective inspiration in Dallas. Via its poignant and soulful interviews in tandem with turn-of-the-century set design and styling, Director + DP Duo RYANDBROOKE Sagote's dream came to life as steep contrast of a 1917 French-Eclectic home compliments cultural juxtaposition of 2021 with stories of fertile creative soil and a deeply refined voice of color celebrating luxe and leisure. On this project, I was in a bit of a swing role as a DP, Assistant Director, and picking up shots with a fantastic team to produce a film-inspired documentary video for our friends at CRWNMAG.
Inspired by themes of Black leisure, retro style, and editorial fashion; these Black image-makers worked hand-in-hand to elevate and execute each concept, lending their unique perspectives at the service of one cohesive project.
